Our Story

I am Cindy Davis and I own Flint River Gallery, L.L.C. I live in Albany, Georgia. I am lucky enough to have a family consisting of a husband and four children. I am real person who owns an online art gallery. I am the “real” part behind the gallery. I drive an 8 year old car which currently needs a power steering pump and has an orange stain in the back seat from a melted crayon. I answer the phone myself. I answer the emails myself. My customers matter to me.
I personally know the artists represented here on the Flint River Gallery website. I respect them. I enjoy their art. Their art means something to me. I consider it an honor that they trust me with their art. I handle each painting with care and concern.
I believe in paying your dues. I believe in teaching your kids to work for things. I believe with God’s help, I can make a real difference with Flint River Gallery. Purchasing from my gallery has a direct impact on the lives of artist's around here. I work hard to present their art to world.
I used to work for a corporation where we would try different things to talk our staff into taking “ownership” of our projects. We wanted other departments to “invest” in our project. We always had to talk them into it, since no one really wanted to “invest” or take “ownership”. To be honest, we all just wanted to do a good job and get paid a fair salary for doing it. Our corporation had missions and visions and endless collections of words to try to make us feel like we were doing something other than just making money.
My vision and mission at Flint River Gallery is so simple and straightforward I don’t more need than one sentence for it.
Flint River Gallery sells great art.
If you happen to find yourself in Albany, Georgia, call me. I will meet you for coffee. We can talk art, we can talk business, or we can just talk. I have learned a few things since moving to Albany in 2005. Albany has taught me how to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee with my neighbors. I never really learned how to do that in any of the cities I used to live in.
Flint River Gallery features paintings that mean something. They are personal. They are accessible. They are bright. They are bold. They give you peace. They give you fire. They are not your grandma’s art. We sell “wide open beautiful not turning back cause I gotta have this painting” kind of art. That is what buying art is about. That is what selling art is about.
I hope you enjoy my gallery. I hope you respect and admire the work of our artists. If you feel a connection with a painting, I hope you purchase it.
